A challenging position for someone who enjoys working with animals. The Animal Care Team is responsible for the total care of the animals in the store including puppies, kittens, birds, small animals, and reptiles. Experience preferred.

The person in this position must prove daily his/her dedication to Petland's mission of matching the right pet with the right customer and meeting the needs of both. He/she also must provide excellent customer service, maximize productivity by utilizing the Petland systems, maintain excellent animal husbandry, assist in community service projects and assist with additional animal care, as needed.

The person in this position works closely with Petland Pet Counselors to positively affect staff morale and culture, and to ensure high levels of customer service, satisfaction and sales. He/she also is responsible for monitoring departmental sales records as well as teaching, educating, influencing, persuading, motivating and developing Petland Pet Counselors.

The person in this position is responsible for purchasing fish, monitoring their health and maintaining a high level of presentation by properly decorating and maintaining the aquariums in the store. He/she also conducts fish inventories, purchases fish by using the point of sale sales history, and analyzes sales history and financial results to determine a course of continual improvement.

The person in this position works closely to maintain proper inventory throughout the store and uses a point of sale system for accurate and effective ordering. He/she also is responsible for maintaining accurate store records as well as implementing Petland in-store marketing campaigns.
