Petland in Austin partners with the Make-A-Wish Foundation® to grant child’s wish for a feathered friend
Austin, TX (6/27/2009) - Petland has partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & South Texas to grant a child’s wish for a new pet. Eight-year-old Lance, whose one most heart-felt wish is to have a colorful talking parrot, will receive a Green Cheek Conure on Sunday, June 28th, at the Petland store in Austin, located at 9900 South IH-35 Building W, Suite 400, in the Southpark Meadow Shopping Center. This Petland is operated by Daxa & Rakesh Bhakta.
The Bhaktas invited their vendors and partners to participate in Lance’s wish to make sure he and his new friend have everything they need. Petland, a national Make-A-Wish® sponsor, agreed to share in the wish by giving Lance a colorful parrot, donated by Barney’s Pets & Supplies. Super Pet/Kaytee brands donated a cage, food, treats and tons of supplies so Lance is fully prepared for his new feathered friend.
