With the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season officially underway (June 1 through November 30), now is the time to prepare, plan, and stay informed. What to Expect This Season

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), this year’s hurricane season is projected to be above average, fueled by warmer ocean temperatures and the presence of El Niño conditions.

Here’s what NOAA’s forecast predicts:

• 13 to 19 named storms
• 6 to 10 hurricanes
• 3 to 5 major hurricanes (Category 3 or higher)

Meteorologists estimate:

• 60% chance of an above-normal season
• 30% chance of a near-normal season
• 10% chance of a below-normal season

Create a Family Emergency Kit—Including Your Pets
