Five Programs. One Outcome: Success.
You’ll learn the business of operating a Petland store including financial management, supervision of personnel, animal care techniques, inventory management, merchandising, community relations, and marketing programs. Petland also provides comprehensive operations manuals and videos for ongoing training of your personnel.
Management Training
A comprehensive management training program prepares each new franchisee to execute the Petland Operating System. From recruiting and training skills, to planning and organizing, to buying and merchandising, to financial statement analysis — this one-week classroom training is strategic in nature and teaches the mindset necessary to guide a Petland store to its full market potential.
Hands-On Training
Petland’s hands-on training program provides one week of tactical training in a high-volume Petland training store and covers opening procedures, closing procedures, pet care, merchandising, buying, scheduling, and leading a real team of Pet Counselors and animal care associates.
Inventory Control Management
This specialized class teaches franchisees and their associates the systems necessary to monitor inventory, improve margins, and the methods for effective and efficient buying practices.
Sales Manager Training
This specialized class teaches franchisees and their associates the best systems for effective recruiting and Pet Counselor development.
Pet Counselor 101
This class is offered in the Petland Business Improvement Center and regionally directly to Petland Pet Counselors.
