How Can We Help?
Petland Chillicothe Reaches $45,000 in Support of Local Shelter Adoptions
Petland in Chillicothe, Ohio, has been matching the right pet with the right customer for more than 50 years. They are also helping support families who find the right pet at the Ross County Humane Society.
Since March of 2016, anyone who has adopted a dog from the local humane society has received a $50 Petland gift card. As of August 1, Petland has redeemed more than $45,000 in those cards at the local stores on Bridge Street and Western Avenue.
In addition to this milestone, Petland Charities presented the Ross County Humane Society with $4,000 ($3,000 in June and $1,000 in August), from the round-up at the register program in the Chillicothe locations to help support the society’s operations and its 4th annual Miles for Mutts Fun Trail Run/Walk on August 25th at Hopewell Mound Group.
Petland says is proud of its relationship with the Ross County Humane Society, maintaining a position on the board and raising awareness through fundraisers and donation events.
“We want families to find the right pet whether they visit Petland or a local humane society or shelter. If they adopt at the Ross County Humane Society, we can help make sure they get a great start with food, supplies or toys,” said Petland Vice President Steve Huggins, who also serves on the Ross County Humane Society Board.
Customers receive their $50 gift card upon completion of their adoption paperwork at the Humane Society.
The gift card program has been incorporated into Petland Charities, a 501c3, whose mission is to help support shelters and service animals.
